Enrolling your child
Enrolments are welcomed for children from Year 0 to Year 8. Enrolment forms are available from the school office or you can download the form below-enrolment form 2015. Please enrol your child as early as possible to ensure we can transition them into our school as smoothly as possible.
New entrants
Your child is entitled to start school on the day they turn five. Before their starting date you are welcome to bring them along for pre visits. You will receive an invitation to bring them into school for three transition to school visits over successive Wednesdays leading into their start of school date. The first two visits are from 9.00am - 11.00am and the final one is from 9.00am - 12.30pm. For insurance purposes it is compulsory for parents to accompany their child for these visits.
Enrolment zone
Te Waotu School operates an enrolment zone. People living within this area are automatically entitled to enrol. You can view the enrolment zone by following the link http://nzschools.tki.org.nz/ and entering Te Waotu in the search menu.

Out of zone places
Each term the Board will determine the number of places which are likely to be available in the following term for the enrolment of students who live outside the home zone. The Board will publish this information by notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school. The notice will indicate how applications are to be made and will specify a date by which all applications must be received. An expression of interest form for out of zone students can be found below.
Applications for enrolment will be processed in the following order of priority:
If there are more applicants in the second, third, fourth, or fifth priority groups than there are places available, selection within the priority group will be by a ballot conducted in accordance with instructions issued by the Secretary under Section 11G(1) of the Education Act 1989. Parents will be informed of the date of any ballot by notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school.
Applicants seeking second or third priority status may be required to give proof of a sibling relationship.
